Cooling Methods for High-Speed Motors

Imported high-speed motor manufacturer: cooling methods for high-speed motors

A high-speed motor must be cooled and its heat dissipated during operation, especially in hot summer weather. If the high-speed motor is found to overheat during use, heat-dissipation measures must be taken. Never let the motor run overheated, otherwise its service life will be affected.

Imported high-speed motor manufacturer: what kinds of cooling methods are there for high-speed motors?

1. Water cooling:

It refers to the internal cooling water circulation design of the automatic tool-setting high-speed spindle. An external cooling tower is configured so that the coolant circulates inside the spindle and carries away the internal heat. This cooling method is simple and reliable, with a more obvious cooling effect.

2. Air cooling:

It refers to the forced convection channel design between the motor housing and the motor stator. The motor heat enters the forced convection area through heat transfer and is then carried away into the air, achieving temperature-controlled operation of the high-speed spindle. Evaporative cooling is pollution-free. If negative-pressure gas bearings are used, the gas of the negative-pressure air bearing is suitable for circulating inside the spindle to carry away part of the motor heat.

Imported high-speed motor manufacturer: how to maintain a high-speed motor?

1. Try not to use compressed air to clean the high-speed motor, to avoid dust entering the motor gap and damaging the machine spindle.

2. When cleaning the area around the high-speed motor, although the motor is stopped, the machine tool should remain powered, and the motor bearings should be protected with an air curtain.

3. When using the high-speed motor, make sure the cutting oil hits the tool, not the tail end of the motor.

4. For tools mounted in the high-speed motor, use a clean soft cloth to regularly clean the shank part to prevent dust from entering the spindle taper bore. Even when not in use, keep the tool holder on the machine spindle to protect the motor taper bore.

5. For a high-speed motor that has been unused for more than one month, make sure it starts at low speed for the first run, performing spindle warm-up and high-speed running-in.

Imported high-speed motor manufacturer: the internal structure of a high-speed motor

The main rotating part of a high-speed motor is the shaft; its manufacturing precision directly affects the precision of the high-speed motor, and the finished product has strict requirements for the machining precision of the rotating shaft. When the shaft runs at high speed, unbalanced mass will cause vibration and seriously harm its dynamic characteristics. Therefore, the rotating shaft must undergo comprehensive dynamic balance testing, and the parts mounted on the shaft should also be dynamically balanced together with the shaft.

The key supporting component of a high-speed motor is the high-precision bearing. Since the higher speed of the motor spindle depends on the bearing performance, size, arrangement and lubrication method, such bearings must have good high-speed characteristics, high dynamic load capacity, good wetting ability and low continuous heat generation.

Whether the motor spindle bearings are in good condition is also greatly affected by the lubrication system. Typical lubrication methods are oil-mist lubrication or air-oil mixed lubrication. The former atomizes grease to lubricate the bearings; the grease cannot be recycled, causing significant pollution. The second method uses high-pressure air to blow the grease directly into the bearings, which not only lubricates but also dissipates heat.
